General Information
I am posting this in the main section, because I am guessing some guests do not understand the actual forums, or other information, so here goes..
1). The ONLY people who have posting rights in the forums area, are CLUB, ARES, OR SPECIAL MEMBERS, a Guest can read the open section, but have NO POSTING RIGHTS. I set it up that way, so no one has to be there 24/7/365, to watch the forums for (I am being nice here) those who have no clue. Again, unless you fall into those 3 categories CLUB, ARES, OR SPECIAL MEMBER ACCESS (the later to be approved by Only 2 people, the President, and or Vice President. No Exceptions.
2). If you wish to contact one of the board members, or to find out some information, then there is a contact section, you can do it through there. because each is screened, before being forwarded, if it is spam , then the system locks the IP address out, and from the site itself. no human intervention, it is just done. Period.
As for being a IARC or ARES member, 1st you have to have a valid callsign, 2nd, if you do, we will call our partner clubs to see if you have been banned or removed from that club. if you have, then your not going to be here. If you are not a registered FCC person, then come to our testing sessions, to be a licensed FCC Tech. then from there, you can see about a membership. it is TOTALLY FREE. we do not charge anyone for the test.
3). I have hardened the security for the entire site due to a few reasons. (If you need to know the reason, and are a member, contact me, and I will be happy to tell you) so Please make sure you keep your passwords long (over 8 numbers /characters) so no one can try to hack your account. I get a full report of everything that goes on the site, including members activity. I know how you do things, so anything out of the ordinary, I immediately check, then either resolve or take action on the account or site otherwise. If I have to reset a password, then you will get a message from the site.
Now I hope you now understand a little more of the what and why.
Respectfully,
Ray Buettner N0MRB
